VACUUM BAGGING
SOLVENTS - we have solvents which will clean or melt almost anything, except metal; please check instructions on all coatings and test areas on all surfaces, before use; all are very flammable
ACETONE
the most volatile and flammable of solvents, for cleaning brushes and tools used in polyesters, good for general surface cleaning, can be mixed with water to reduce evaporation and strength (check a sample area for damage, before use )
DENATURED ALCOHOL
denatured alcohol is ethanol with additives (often methanol) to make it taste bad and poisonous; it is a good solvent for epoxies and shellac, and is used as a residue free cleaning solvent
ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL
general purpose solvent, same as rubbing alcohol, not safe to use on Plexiglas, may be used on vinyl or PVC, can be used to release bubbles in table top epoxies
LACQUER DILUENT
powerful cleaning solvent, may damage some surfaces, excellent wax and grease remover
LACQUER THINNER
strong solvent, can burn bare hands, reducer for some paint systems
METHYL ETHYL KETONE
this is not MEKP which has active oxygen atoms; this is MEK solvent which is very strong and less volatile than acetone
MINERAL SPIRITS
the lowest volatility of solvents, good for cleaning paint brushes and some surfaces, can burn skin
PAINT STRIPPER
a mixture of solvents and thickeners especially designed to hang on surfaces and melt paint
SPRAY GUN CLEANER
special strong stuff to remove paint in intricate areas of spray guns
STYRENE
not a true solvent, but, a very low viscosity polymer, can be used to thin gelcoats and resins up to 10%
T-12 SOLVENT FOR EPOXIES
designed for cleaning tools used on epoxies, not for thinning, more effective than lacquer thinner
TOLUENE,
industrial solvent, able to dissolve many paints, silicone sealants, ink, adhesives, and lacquer
XYLENE
can be used to thin enamels and epoxy paints, lower volatility than toluene
